WD21 31 Spline Axles

A friend of a friend is a manager at a 4x4 shop and had a set of brand new superwinch hubs that he wanted tp get rid of. Part number 400545 which is listed as for the 86.5-93 Pathfinder (link). Of course if you finish reading that it says for 31 spline axles. Now that I have one of my automatic hubs on the ground and see that the superwinch does not fit did i research and see that I have 27 splines.

 

Questions is, what pathfinders have 31 spline axles and are these hubs worthless to me?

i think it's 94-95 pathfinders and 95-97 hardbody. it might fit some xterras, frontiers and later model pathfinders too

I don't think any WD21 has 31 spline front axles and yes, those hubs are worthless to you.

I don't think Superwinch makes 27 splines for our trucks. IIRC, You'll need to go with Warn or MileMarker. I bought some 27 spline Selectro hubs (older company bought by MileMarker) for my 87.

oh yeah, mine is 28 splines. it's the rears that are 31

Splines / years:

 

27 / 86-89 Pathfinder, 86-89 Hardbody V-6, 89-97 Hardbody 4cyl

 

28 / 90-95 Pathfinder, 90-97 Hardbody V-6

 

 

Not sure what the caR-50s used, but they were interchangable with Frontiers and Xterras.
