so i was just wondering exactly why we cant sas our pathfinders?? i mean it cant be becasue we are unibody so what is it.

 

 

i know nothing about what it requires but coulndt we just weld leaf spring conections to the frame, fab up know shocks then roll a new front axle in and get new steering gear???

 

tell me why we cant just do this??

Just curious, who told you that you couldn't? And what does r50's being unibody have to do with it? Look underneath a factory Cherokee and tell me where the full frame is and then describe to me what the front suspension looks like. It take is parts/money/and fab skills but is not impossible.

proablky the same reason there is still so many IFS wd21's. Money, time, and alot of people need their Pathys for everyday use as well as toys and can't have them down for long periods of time.

Coilover front, right? One thing I find curious about the Cherokee front is the use of universal joints instead of CVs or ball-joints.

Quite like the old XJs, of course parked next to a D21 its a no brainer, but credit where credits due.

was more meant to say that they are solid axle unibody trucks out of the box, meaning unibody has nothing to do with 'not' swappign in something more 'solid'. But yes xj' sand whatever the chassis code for Grand Cherokees are have coil sprung front ends.
