haha very nice.. gosh i cant wait till i gret taxes.. i found a really nice pathy in our junkyard here.. only one our generation.. beautiful vehicle if it was an manual id almost consider taking off the broke front end and putting everyting into it lol.. i did happen to snap the tail light guards $25. considering taking the doors too cuz they have the exterior panels on the bottom as a guard.. ive always liked the look of those.
-
well if i get a new rear bumper.. i want a tube one. and i think it will cost less to do it this way then to do it with a carrier.. just a thought.
-
haha very nice.. i will def be refering back to this for this wirig.. i also have som kc lights that i want to install.. my standard fog lights dont work.. they were attached to the bumper i bought from the junkyard and when i pluged them in they didnt light replaced them and stillnothing.. im thiking since my connectors were never coverd they may have corroded.. so i am going to attempt to wire my kc's on my front bumper.. going to snag a cruise control switch from a junkyard and hopefully it will work.. that way its a stock switch and will fit with a stock look and be a lit switch?? yeah?
-
yeah i just figured the license plate and lights would be in the way was all.. if ot then that makes it that much more simpler.. find a welder for the inside reinforcement and then bolt up and latch. should be easy and junkyard find hopefully cheap!!

okay that helped a bit more. still lost but obviously you have to learn somehow right.. but.. as clutch? i dont know what this is.
-
so all in all this is a simple stock addition for most all of us.. get the carrier with all the parts. and either buy the rear door or just pull all the crap for the carrier of fit. then just put some additional metal on the corner, bolt it up and attach the mounts or replace the hatch? i am going to really consider this.. but.. i could just buy a safari rack and be happy with that too lol..
-
wow jj i mean i can do a simple stereo setup.. amp and all that... but this just looks complicated to me.. i just wanted it hooked up to run when the engine was on and the a switch for water like yours.. but all that other stuff is beyond my knowledge.. im more of a visual hands on learner lol but i'll keep looking over it to try to figure it out... i bought the kit. so im guessing that has the relay in it right?
-
so the 96 pathys come with a rear tire carrier.. but not after.. well maybe the 97's not sure.. can these be put on a 98 pathfinder? i mean the bodys are exactly alike.. the rear door/hatch has a different place for the license plate but isnt that it.. so can or cant we?

i have an electric fan that i want to wire into my pathy... i have a universal electric fan wiring kit that i picked up from checkers.. i want it wired in properly with a fuse and all.. where and how is the best way to wire this fan in??

so when i went mudding and got stuck i came out with a transmission problem,.. there was a small dime sized ole where the transmission links to the engine. not a big deal i think. leaked a little oil but i didnt understand why i lost what i thought was oil from the tranny. well havent had any problems you could hear it spitting out a times. but now i hear it worse.. cant afford to replace it what can i do here.. and how do i check the fluid in the tranny.. never done that before.

talked to the shop today, get my pathy back mondya then i just have to put the carpet and seats back in, then the lights and bumpers. i'll be driving after that. i need to replace my rotors tough. are ther specalty tools need to do tis. do the calipers twist or go straight back. then i'll be headin up to see this pathy that has been done. do you think i could get a ride also just to get a feel see how it does. that would be a make it or break it ride haha. oh and what size tires are on that thing.
-
nice to see you have taken an interest in my research here. just trying to get some feed back on ideas and everything. hope that doesnt offend you. i emailed you back as well..

damn this thread moved fast. so are you saying that those spacers wont fit up to ours??? not even the rear ones? the rear is realy al i want. you cant find them anywhere. the front there are a ton of ppl on here that wil make the fronts for me. i just need the rear ones.
-

main concern lets say 1.5k parts labor and all. what can i get done...
-
im looking at a max of 2k. i plan on getting a simple sas done w taxes. i was just curious because with the x they just mounted fron and rear shackles for the front leafs. why couldnt we put leaf al around. can it really be that difficult. and again im no mechy and i know nothing of this stuf thats obviously why im asking.
-
not sure what ifs iseither but keep seeing it while researching the xterra. something intigrated frame suspension. or something haha now i look like an idiot.
-
so morgan ans nissandom47 have both sas'd an r50. why arent there more. and i was looking in to xterra's and they have a calmini sas kit. cant we still some of that and sas an r50 that way. leaf springs and just fab up a few components. im not all mechy but it cant be that hard why isnt it done?
-
okay tylers looks expensive but nice. the black one looks sick. why arent there more done. i'd love to do that to mine!!!
-
well i guess nobody has told me this, just figured if ppl were spending so much money to try and do a sfd, why not just sas it instead. better al around that and ive never seen the r50 sas'd
-
so i was just wondering exactly why we cant sas our pathfinders?? i mean it cant be becasue we are unibody so what is it. i know nothing about what it requires but coulndt we just weld leaf spring conections to the frame, fab up know shocks then roll a new front axle in and get new steering gear??? tell me why we cant just do this??
