Hi all the Aussies or anyone else who wants to listen. my uhf can handle 20 user channels on my uhf. for the newbie's these are only listening channels that can be programed into a uhf but you can not talk on these channels. But sometimes bloody handy on the road.

Good job mate, only problem is the police are starting to phase out the system, the old UHF system will no longer be able to be listened to. My mum bought a scanner about a year ago, she can no longer listen in on a Friday night

It kinda sucks, here in Melbourne Metro, Ambulance & Fire have gone to digital radio systems, & worst of all Police too have gone digital, but their system is encrypted. Impossible to scan. Even if you get the encryption key, as soon as you log the digital radio on to the communications system, it recognises that its not registered & 'stuns' the radio, so you have to take it back to your Motorola dealer... who will charge a fortune & ask questions...

Having said that, my Philips PRM 8030 allows me to program my St. John Ambulance channels, so I dont need to borrow a radio when I go on duty.

This PRM 8030 is for sale btw, $200. email no_pov@hotmail.com for more details :D
