HID's are not safe for use in halogen projecors; they direct the light upward and ouward from the center rather than foward so the brightest rays are in other drivers eyes instead of on the road.

Go with silverstar ultras, Piaa extreme white, nighthawk etc... good halogens and a direct battery relay to ruduce voltage drop to the bulp and save your headlight swich from stress.

Power for the headlights is controlled by a switch on the dash. This is *not* a great place to tap into the system, for two reasons: The headlamp switch uses tiny, high-resistance contacts to complete circuits, and the wire lengths required to run from the battery to the dashboard and all the way out to the headlamps creates excessive resistive voltage drop, especially with the thin wires used in most factory installations.

In many cases, the thin factory wires are inadequate even for the stock headlamp equipment. Headlamp bulb light output is severely compromised with decreased voltage.

(i would look for a hid conversion kit with bi-xenon so you have a high and a low beam. the two kits below just come with the light bulbs and not the wireing. If you get a 9004 to hid conversion kit it should come with wires that will clip into the factory bulb hardness. I got them for my 300zx and they work great. I also bought the 8000k) The kits cost like 60-80$ though6000k HB4 Luminics Pure Blue Headlight Bulb HID

Get a grill and buckets out of a Hardbody pickup and swap in come CIBIE (pronounced CBA) European spread headlights.

Then you can swap in more powerful lamps and still run on the stock system.
