Finding a automatic transmission for a 94 pathfinder LE

Hey guys I am new to pathfinders and this forum. I've been looking around for a transmission and I am not sure what years part fit. I've checked ebay and found one auction that said 90-95. Is that true? Are there other vehicles like the pickup or infinity trans that will work? I just got this 94 pathfinder and it has a bad trans and I got it for $450. Everything else is in very excellent condition. I've found three trans at the local wrecking yard. I've found a 90,91, and 93. Will those fit? Also, should I install a after market trans cooler during this installation or can I wait?

I think (dont quote me on this b/c I dont have the auto) that 86.5-95 will work but you have to know wheather it is a 4sp or 5sp (i may have this all mixed up) and would have to match up the computer (transmission control unit) and the only other thing is in the tailstock whether the new tranny would have the electrical speedo...another option you have is to do a manual transmission swap...i'm sure some of these auto tranny guys will chime in that have more knowledge than I do

^ I believe he is pretty much correct, there was a thread about this recently...

90-95 will work fine but I can't remember about the electronic speedo difference from the 94-95. It'd have to be sensor/wiring difference if any so shouldn't matter...

Any RE401A transmission from a 90-95 will work. This transmission was used throughout most of the R50 years as well, however the wiring is different.

Ok I assume that is marked on the trans. Any idea where it is on the trans?
