hey what's up? this is probably the 3rd topic on the same topic, i don't know what going on but anyway, i already have a 3inch lift with 33s, my torsion bars aren't factory, however their maxed out, is there a kit just to lift the front?

UCA'S = Upper Control Arms

Also, Check out Fab tech, I think they make a two wheel drive lift (you are a two wheel drive aren't you?) But i know total Chaos does.. they specialize in Toyota but also have some Nissan stuff.

yes i am 2 wheel drive, and about the uca's and torsion bars, mine aren't factory, i have new upper control arms and new sway-a-way torsions bars. about fabtech, i don't know if i want fabtech on mine, i hear that fabtech really sucks and it's mainly for show.

i had a low riding front end with just the lift coils and uca's too. so to fix it i completely dumped the front end's suspension lift and did what matterhorn did and got the trailmaster kit. it lowers the entire front axle and keeps the stock suspension geometrys. having doing so i can safely say that i will never put another uca lift on any of my trucks. they caused me more problems than they were worth. the only problem is that i dont know if you can get the trailmaster kit for a 2wd.

hey MatterHorn, i have a question for you.

i understand you have the trailmaster lift and lift coils but do you have the coil spacers in the rear as well as the coils? if so were you able to crank the torsion bars up front enough to level the ride height. the reason i ask is because i want to run 35s with my trailmaster kit and cannot figure out how you did it . any advice would be a big help.

no i wish i had the $$$ for a sas.

maybe in a few years.

the crappy uca lift just flexes down the outer halfshafts of the front axle. the actual differential housing stays in the stock location. this is why you have increased drive/balljoint/sterring angles, whcih all suck. by lowering the differential case along with cv joint/ a-arm assembly, you get lift and you dont get stress on all the other suspension components because they were moved down with the outer half shafts.

as for 35s.... why not. i now guys that run them with the uca lift. they just had to do a LOT of cutting to fit them. i dont know of anyone who has broken something that was related to the size of their tires (ie. diff., hubs, axleshafts...) :type:

it is almost level, but not quite ... I dont wanna go crazy on the front until I get my UCA's installed ... the coils in the rear are also only 1.5" lift coils ... and I have a 3" body lift ... that is enough to clear 35's ... but only barely, and with no fender flares or mud flaps on ... Like Pickles said ... do yourself a favor and stick with 33's ... as soon as I am able, I am going to do just that ... if you off road at all ... it will tear your steering up ...

oh yeah ... and I do have the coil spacers in the rear as well ... so about 5.5 inches of lift plus the 3" body lift ...

i know it seems bad, but the pathfinders do have the power to turn the 35s. both Matt on this forum and "Orange4ska" on another have them and they both say they do it without problem. i just dont know.

MatterHorn, why do you want 33s? just for the reduced stress levels?

if it is so bad that you want to take off a perfectly good set of 35 inch tires and go smaller, mmmmaybe i dont want 35s either.

it really would only be another incho of clearence over 33s any way

they are cheaper...... sssh

as for level..

"it is almost level, but not quite "

are we talking less than an inch or what?

dont get a ruler or anything, but if you had to guess?

thanks

yeah maybe an inch ... maybe a little more ... with a full tank of gas and all my crap in the back it levels out ...

the main reason I want to go back to 33's is because I want to reduce the stress' on my steering ... as it is right now, seeing as I have been doing no off roading since I got in Phoenix, I dont have a problem ... but I eventually want to get back on the trails ... its not so bad that I want to imediately dump these tires ... you just have to be conscious of it while on the trail, and adjust your driving accordingly ...

the second reason is because of cost and availability ... i'm a broke student now, so I have to try and conserve where I can ...
