jfypaths Posted January 4, 2009 Share Posted January 4, 2009 watch out fellow pathy lovers, I picked up a water pump at checkers and put it in a year ago no problems until yesterday getting on the high way I had to kick her in the ass up to 5500rpm so I didn't get flattened bye a semi and then snap! coolant every where! Ok so after picking up a used pump at the scrpyd I Know I know but Im broke until next week so I couldn't afford a new one but heres the deal the pump I pulled out of a 90 has a much larger housing then the one from checker a.k.a thicker side walls! so watch out for the skimpy water pumps out there! Im going to check out the remanufactured pumps and see if they are thick walled or not my guess is they probably very. Does anyone out there know of a good brand of pump? thats not made in china or tie-on with old coke cans!! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Any chance of pics of your old pump? here is a photo of the cracked pump I hope its sum what clear as for some reason I couldn't up load it with out degrading it down a hell of allot!
