Like I said, I put a new radio in and now the dash illumination as well as heater/air illumination is out. No fuses blown, kinda sure it's one of those wires behind the radio. I saw some wires from behind the actual Illumination Control: Pink, Pink+Blue, Pink+Silver, followed them down below to behind the radio, checked them with a bulb, and Pink isn't working... if anybody has any experience PLEASE help.

it's a '94 XE

Also, funny story.. I got pulled over at like 3 in the morning coming home from...elsewhere... on the first day i installed my radio.. can't see @!*%, don't know how to turn off my radio yet, window's up, cops outside... i finally get it off, roll down my window in a hurry and he's like "this your car?"... anyways, got off with a warning..

HELP!

So, did you cut and splice wires to install your new stereo?

Yes. I actually installed my own wires because the schematic wasn't right. The only wire that was hooked into my old radio that is now in my new one is the power. There are four remaining cables attached to my radio labeled ILLUM (which i tried plugging those pink wires into), REMO, and two others that weren't labeled.

At this point, I would identify which fuse is for the dash illumination and make sure you are getting power to the fuse. then chase the wire(s) from the other side on up into the dash, checking for power at every connection.
