jwestpnw
I just got my new timing belt and it has no timing marks or any sort of directional arrow on it. It's a Cloyes brand which the salesman told me was the best quality you can get. Does it matter which way it goes on? How do I figure the positioning of the belt on the gears without the marks? I know one of you super smart mechanics knows some trick for this so if you could clue me in I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance- Josh
Precise1
There are several full write ups on changing the timing belt, some pinned in the garage section I believe, under "How To". Search or hunt directly and you shall find. B
94extreme
count the teeth but gates belts are best and personally, i'd take that one back and get one with the marks.
