Punkfinder
93 SE-V6 here north of Toronto with at least one broken exhaust stud. Does anyone here know if the resulting leak in the exhaust due to the broken bolt would affect my rig's ability just to be tested (not necessarily pass)? Also, I'm having my rig Krown sprayed for obvious reasons. Any other tips on keeping things somewhat rust free? (e.g. regular washing of the undercarriage through the winter, etc.) Thanks all! Simon
Nope. I've had both of mine tested, with broken studs....no issues.
BowTied
I wouldn't point it out to the test tech Unless the leak is really notable, I agree with Simon.
nige
mine has passed with a swiss-cheese stock exhaust and with headers and aftermarket parts. the trick is to take a few laps around the highway and get the motor and exhaust nice and hot right before they test it. Dowser
While your at it throw one of those Pass E test Bottles in your tank and drive around with that a day before the test.... helped me too.
