Wheel choice

What up ya'll?!

Ordered new CV axles for my '98 (went with the

beefed up AC set from 4x4parts.com) and my

mechanic suggested going with Warn Premium

Locking Hubs to get the most out of the CV axles

and supposedly improve fuel effeciency (?).

So I went and ordered the Warn hubs but I failed

to realize whehter or not they will fit my current wheels

(Helo Maxx 8). I figured with snow on the way these Helo's

are take a beating so I'm contemplating some steelies

for the winter. Seeing how I've got hubs on the way,

I'm not sure which wheels allow for them...

Rock Crawler Series 51 or American Racing 767?

If anyone can offer some advice that would be sweet :D

BTW, the beefier AC CV axles are great :jig:

I have the AR767's, and they suit me fine.

I have some rust on the wheels after 3 years of wheeling & winters. But I plan to clean them up & repaint them over the winter.

Thanks for the info ya'll! Always love the uber

wicked support on this forum. It is second to

none :D

Now that I know the centre bore is 4" I was

able to contact an offroad shop here and

confirm the appropriate wheel. Both models

fit the bill so now the only choice is which

one to go with...? The wheels in my head

keep turning... :jig:

lol, all that work to decide, and buddy behind the counter decided for you?! lol

The AR's should do you well. The red and blue stripe around the rim is so worth it!

Hehe yeah, when I walked in to pick them up, he had completely forgotten about me and my order... He thought I had ordered 22's... I burst out laughing and told him I had ordered the 16X8 steelies for a Pathfinder. Then he knew who I was and what I ordered.

And yes, they look great. I am partial to the pinstripes too, the add a nice touch.

The OEM hubs are a huge eyesore, as well as the exposed drum in the rear. The centre caps I got with the deal are kind of imposing... I need to look for better ones, preferably smaller with some kind of shape. Any suggestions?
