coolant leak

I have a small coolant leak just below the air intake on the throttle body. It looks like some sort of plunger that is also attatched to the throttle linkage. Does anyone know what this part is??

What year, you say throttle body? Can you post a picture?

 

I don't know the TBI systems first hand so I'll refrain.

The model year is 1998. Hope the picture goes thru. I have photo's just not sure how to post them. Sorry!!

Get a free photobucket or whatnot account. Up load the photo to it, copy the image address and use the image button (above, bottom row, 4th from right) to insert it. Sounds cumbersome, but a breeze when you have it set up/done it a time or two...

I have them on the photobucket . Just not having any luck transfering them to forum. Try again latter.

copy the addy to the pic and post just that if you can't figure the other part. someone will fix it right up.

To refresh the truck is a 1998 chilkoot. The leak is just below the air intake.

I've seen that leak before. A friend's Xterra had the same issue. You should be able to get the part separate from the throttle body.

 

It's the Thermal element. Part code 16391U. Double check that with your Nissan Dealer.

the dealer is quoting me $210.00 for the part. The service technician said good luck getting it out. Has anyone had any experience removing this or is there another way to prevent the leak.
