JWT ecu vs. JET ecu upgrade

I've got cams, intake, exhaust so the ECU is next

There is a decent price differance between theese two. Has anyone tried the JET?

$400 sounds much better than $600. But of course if the $200 extra is worth it better go that way.

Any input or comments would great, thanks in advance

[ODBC SQL Server Driver]
Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'and'.

No luck on the link.

I was under the impression that JET makes piggyback units that only tweak the ECU program a little.

JWT completely reprograms the factory ECU... It's a replacement, not an extra chip.

I don't know a whole lot about JET, but I know they don't specialize in Nissans like Jim Wolf does.

There's a reason JWT is regarded so highly. I've never talked to anyone who'd had a problem with their parts. Conversely, I've never spoken w/ anyone who's tried JET.

I feel I can safely say that you're going to get what you pay for here.

Ooops, never mind. I found it.

“Import ECU Upgrade Kit

Part #: 65002

The JET Performance Import Computer Upgrade Package is the solution to performance tuning import and domestic sport compact vehicles. Import computers do not have computer chips that are easily removed, making it necessary for JET engineers to either reprogram the vehicle’s existing chip or remove and replace the chip by desoldering it from the circuit board. The kit provides you with all the materials required to safely send your vehicle computer to JET’s lab for a high performance software upgrade. Once we receive your ECU it will be programmed according to the information you provide on the vehicle specification sheet to optimize performance and mileage to match your specific modifications. JET's exclusive Dynamic Spectrum Tuning provides optimal performance across the entire power band-not just at full throttle. Programming includes extensive modification to air/fuel ratios, ignition advance and boost pressures for turbo applications.”

So it’s a re-flash, but they’re kind of vague about what they’re going to do.

It would have to be a whole new unit. Our ECUs are not reprogrammable/reflashable. Well, at the the WD21 model anyway. Im sure its similar to J/W, removed yours, send it in, they programm it and send it back.

Both companies have you send them an ecu to be reprogramed. Then adjust the ignition and air to fuel ratio acording to the mods that you have already done. I think it is a good point that JWT specializes in Nissan and Jet started with domestic then started doing imports 7 years ago.

Also does anyone know what it will do to emmisions? I will probably buy an extra to send in so I can swap it back if I need to.

 That's a reflash buddy.

From what I remember reading about this in the past, there is no promise that the vehicle will meet emissions testing...

(Just memory, offers grain of salt)

Certainly the best way to do it. Especially if you can do a emissions test with a free (or very cheap) retest if it fails. (I have done this in the past) That way you would have proven test data...

I have looked around in other random forums and it seems that most import people don't trust the JET guys. I also found that AC also does the reflash it is aobut $500...i read somewhere that they send it to JWT, but I dont know why it would be cheaper? I have also read that through JWT it can take months to get it back if they are busy :wackinit:
