It's official (almost official) XTERRA!

Made a deal with a local dealer for a 2002 xterra (8,000)$, If I give him half up front, I can take it and pay the rest directly to him with no 3rd party banks or bs. So far he's got 3,100.

In the mean time, driving company car and not even touching the pathy. If anyone wants the 90 path, take it for $500 CASH. However NO 31bfgs/rock crawler rims. Stock chrome rims with 31tires.

It runs, only problem I've experienced lately is the overheating. Every 11-14 days it overheats then all fluids gushes out. After cooling down, I refill antifreeze and good till the next time happens. After the 2nd time it happened I stopped driving.

Things that needs to be done. Timing belt, even though it was done at 121,000 miles, it currently at 171,456 miles. Waterpump. Muffler and manifold gaskets. The chassis has no rust, only a rusting hole underneath rear seat.

Body is good, couple of dents here and there. Has the Manik offroad brush guard, and the common tire carrier. Interior is ok. All leather, but front seats have the leather tearing at the ass sections.

The member Stryker from here,...I paid him a 100$ to just look at it and tell me if it was worth it to keep putting money into it. He said it was great. However that lazy mofo didn't not want to do any repairs for anykind of money. lol.

It currently runs, turn it on and drive it away. It has it's slight issues..I'm just sooo not experienced mechanically wise and I'm tired of all the local mechanics with no experience giving repair quotes out of their asses and can't even guarantee. Been working a lot lately so I just drive the company car home. Was going to take a auto repair class at the local vocational school just to know the basics for me. but at this very point, it has to be postponed.

Want to thank all you guys for helping me with all, ALL my noob questions, including the infamous how to use 4x4, I cant push up for high! lol

Hey, I hopes it works out like you need it to, and good luck selling the Pathy. Make sure to post picts of the X and don't be a stranger!! I'm sure some people would love to get together and out wheel you... :D

Out wheel idk, My X was built and it would take on my Pathy anyday.

That was a joke. You know, tongue-in-cheek. I have to ask though, was the Pathy as 'built' as the X?

Ok, so, they weren't equal in mods/cost/ability??? I'm really asking for a realistic comparison; I don't know many people that had both. But to say a super modded X kept up with a hardly modded pathy makes no sense. Just asking Bud.

When the X was stock, vs my Path now the X would out wheel the Path anyday, After Bigger tires on the path and a few very small minor things done to the Path it would keep up with no problem, after lifting the X(2003 Se Supercharged) it would still out wheel a lifted Path. at least on the trails I run.

I do miss the X, would trade anything to have it back.

I should keep the path, and attempt to do all the work on it myself. If I do something that goes boom, I would always have the X. I got no where to store it, unless in front of the house, sidewalk ghetto style.

Haven't started up the pathy in like 1 week, I go to start it up and it does, but it feels like 'putt putt putt putt" and a light smoky out the muffler. Is it normal for any car to do that when you dont turn it on after a while?

I'm so f***ing tempted to buy this... but I don't know if I could figure out the problem with it... it'd be a great wedding gift for my fiance (she wants a pathy)

Can we see some pictures of it Natura?

Thanks 91PathSE, I think I understand now... Now, if you put the X SC motor in the Pathy... :D

No, not normally, but how many mile is on yours? If an injector leaked down pressure in a cylinder, it would be like that until it was cleared out. If some oil from the valve area migrated into a cylinder due to an imperfectly sealed valve, it could act like that until burned off. If it was cold, it could act like that. You see where I'm going...

I have a BMW K75 with a 750cc power plant that is an inline 3 cylinder laying on it's side so the spark plugs stick out horizontally to the left. From day 1, sometimes it would blow out blue smoke when started, due to oil leaking into one of the cylinders, It's inherent in the design, but is no flaw. There were oodles of K75 and K1000 built (up to 93ish?) and there are still many of them on the road. Mine has 78,000 on it...

Some 'Putt, putt and a puff of smoke' after sitting a while doesn't necessarily mean a great deal.
