1998 SE front bumper removal

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Does anyone have any pics on how to remove a 98SE front bumper step by step starting from scratch?

I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks.

1. Remove corner lights next to headlights.

2. Remove clips holding grill to body

3. Remove screws holding grill and trim piece below grill to body, remove grill and lower trim piece.

4. Remove turn signals and fog lights.

5. Unscrew fender lining from bumper.

6. Either use a ratcheting wrench and remove the nut and bolt on both sides holding the bumper on or unscrew the windshield washer reservoir tank and use a regular wrench. If you look at the face bar on the bumper, there are little circles that are the head of the bolts holding the mounting bracket on the bumper. Behind those is where the nut and bolt are.

I used the repair manual for this and it worked well, pm me your email and I can send you this section if youd like.

Thanks for the reply.

Repair manual? Is it the same as the Nissan service manual? Cos I have that and it doesn't detail the steps you have mentioned.

Im assuming thats the one I have. It doesnt do step by step but it has the pictures of all of the screws and nuts and all and arrows pointing to where they insert.

Be very careful with the clips as they are easy to break. You have to turn them i think a quarter turn to get them out
