91pathydestroyer
thanks guys, i've done a lot of searching for fixing stuff on my pathfinder and found a lot of good info on replacing the starter. my pathy recently started having problems where it wouldn't start all the time, then finally yesterday it would not start at all but i could still push start it. so last night a parked my pathy in my gf's garage at her house and took out the starter. took it to napa and the guy bench tested is x3. everything seemed fine with the starter but dumbass forgot to test the starter solenoid. so when i got home i used jumper cables off my battery and did my own test. first I ground the case of the starter and touched the wire to the starter to the positive jumper and the starter turned. but when i hooked up the positive to the solenoid and jumped 12v through the solenoid ignition plug all the solenoid would do is click once and not start the starter. after doing much research it was cheaper to buy the new starter with the solenoid...found lots of good pics on this forum and decided to be a part of it and help anyone I can with what i know... 88pathoffroad
Pardon me, but I don't think there's a quick way to bench-test a starter without the solenoid on it at the time.
