Is it good if the temp of my truck never gets up to halfway on the temp gauge even on a 80 degree day it always stays at about

a quarter of the gauge but never half way and i was reading that if the temp does not get half way up on the temp gauge the thermostat does not open is this true?

Actually if the engine won't warm up enough, the T-stat is stuck open not closed. Our stock temp guage isn't the most precise instrument, so you are probably just fine.
