racerdave
91 XE-V6 Ignition Signal Missing In Primary Coil So to fix this I need a new distributor ? The distributor is what sends the signal to the coil correct?
88pathoffroad
Kind of...the ECU gets data from the distributor, then it sends a signal to the power transistor on the coil, which makes the coil fire. Could be wiring in between any of those parts or some of the parts themselves.
racerdave
what about the crank angle sensor in the distributor?
GhostPath
If it was the CAS, the truck wouldn't run.
racerdave
ok. isnt that the only electronic part in the distributor?
Terrano1992
Sorry my poor English... "Ignition signal" is a feedback from primary ignition coil to ECCS module. If it is missed, it can be malfunction in: - wire harness and connectors (most likely, if your engine can start); - resistor or condenser in primary coil circuit; - power transistor module; - ignition coil itself. It isn't distributor or CAS malfunction.

I will post the results tonight :-) thanks again.

Check all suspected connectors, wires and ground points thoroughly. I think, this picture may be helpful. "Ignition signal" circuit marked red.
