newbie to d21 pathy's

hi all

am new to the site, and just gto my hands on an 88 2dr pathfinder

which i swapped for my mini truck

i was having a look under the chassis to familerise myself with it

and noticed this

 

the upper control arm is rubbing against the shock

is this normal??

im guessing the previous previous owner must of accidently mounted them on the wrong sides or are they from another vehicle

can any1 post up a pic of the front end to the see difference please

You know that's probably the only pic I don't have

I could be wrong (it's happend once before), but I'm sure there is no left or right shock.

Maybe they are too fat. Maybe someone has chopped the bumpstops allowing more travel. Can't really see alot in that pic.

Aftermarket shocks typically do contact the upper control arm if they're larger than stock size. My front Ranchos have had dents in them since right after I put them on.

so being thick after market shocks its nuthing to worry bout to much?

Nope. I ended up with aftermarket upper control arms and they don't even come close to the shocks now.
