joeytattoo Posted June 16, 2004 Share Posted June 16, 2004 I have a load of problems with my truck , my gas and temp guage's dont work its running like not all of the pistons are firing and it has some rust holes that I need some explanation on how to repair? 88pathoffroad Posted June 16, 2004 Share Posted June 16, 2004 The gas and temp guages are run by a small voltage regulator on the backside of your dash. The regulator's gone out on you if they're not working. A write-up on how to fix that is posted in the Garage section. Search for "voltage regulator" and find the thread. There's also a write-up on how to check error codes on your ECU posted at the top of the Garage forum, read that if you want to check your ECU for error codes to see what's happening. I'd say try changing the plugs, wires, cap and rotor and see if that helps. Lots of people report great success after changing out the simple stuff like that.
