jj big shoe
Will i be able to install the relo kit and work around the headers with out removing them, I hope so cause them headers wern't easy. Thanks, Unfortunately, neither will installing the relo kit now. What I did was attach the hoses to the base and spin the whole thing on using space through the fender then attach the filter mount to the hose ends that spin. I had to replace the hoses because of a leak at the fitting a little while ago, so I bought a pair of 36" hoses and put the filter mount under the truck on the trans crossmember. Looks like you have to jack it up and go thru the wheel well ? Do you have to remove the wheel.?
94LE-BlackEmerald
I installed my relo kit after the header install. You will have to remove the wheel and go through the fender to get it done. Attaching the hoses and spinning the whole 'thing' on is an option. I put the hoses after spinning on the plate thingy. It's a bit of a pain, but it is no more difficult than installing the headers, especially without a lift.
Earth1
I don't know what to think about relocating the filter. I did about a year ago and have had issues with oil pressure and lifters ticking since. As a matter of fact, I'm taking mine off next oil change to see if anything changes. I put mine on the passenger firewall, I think where the fuel filter was stock. Maybe if it were mounted lower the oil pump wouldn't have to work so hard to gut oil up there. I don't think it's that big of an issue though, lots of people have no problems with it... Something to look into and consider. It does make changing the oil so much easier and cleaner though. Yea I thought with the headers the filter was like 3x easier to get to...
