Transfer case shifter

So I started a body lift with a buddy of mine and he's finishing it up as I write this...

But he's ran into a problem with the transfer case shifter and not having enough room to move into 4L... with out cutting into the console....

I thought I remember reading something about bending the shifter but can't find it again and he's done a little research himself and he came up with buying a shifter out of a hardbody because its longer and angled differently... Will this work or is it as simple as bending it??

Use the HB shifter.

The HB shifter would be my first choice. However, you can remove the Pathy one, heat it up and then bend it. That's what I did 'cause I was going wheeling the next day.

you could cut it and weld another pice sideways? my friend did this on his toyota and it shifted perfect might be worth a try?

Alright so naturally after I posted this I found that thread I had been looking for...

And it seems that the HB is the way to go...

 

Does anyone know where to find this damn thing... I'm allover the internet and can't find the shifter anywhere...
