Roost
I will putting headers from Pacesetter on the P-finder when I reinstall the engine and tranny, should I wrap the exhaust or leave it naked? Opinions and ideas would be appreciated.
unccpathfinder
i think the tape would make worse problems for the pacesetters
GhostPath
Leave it naked. All header tape will do is make it rust out faster.
thethirdjq
tape it and keep that heat out of the engine bay. if done right it will not crack the headers. but if done wrong - especially with pacesetter - its almost for sure to have problems. some tips: get a can of high heat spray paint and put several coats on the header before taping and after taping. there are so many ways to actually tape the header, just make sure everything is dry before you put them back on the engine. of course you could bypass all of that and get ceramic coated headers
Roost
If I left them naked, wouldn't that possibly mess with the electrical stuff i.e. starter? BTW got the timing belt, h2o pump and the cam and crank seals out tonight. Found that I had the wrong seals for the cams and crank. Will hit again tomorrow with the right seals and then get the new pump and timing belt. Then maybe get the other stuff transfer over.
