  4. Hey guys, I am bringing this up and I hope I do not step on toes with this. (please don't ban me moderators ) I am a newb and thought I would share something from another forum I am a part of. In that forum, we have a member's ride sub forum that allows the users to show pics of their ride with lists of mods, future mods, and etc. The titles were setup by member's name and then what type of ride they had. for example, my member's ride page would be - thethirdjq: 1993 Nissan Pathfinder SE. Photos would be posted strictly of the ride, and other members would have the opportunity to comment in a constructive and positive way on the ride. My question is: does this already exist? is there a chance we could add a sub forum like this? I think it could be a good way to generate a more informed interest in pathy of the month. here is a link to the rules for the forum in the other site (cb7tuner.com) http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=279 here is the link to the actual forum: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=42
  5. there is a sticky on this. i use photobucket and copy and paste the img link from there into the post on this site and it automatically inserts the photo into the post. doesn't use any memory on this site and allows for multiple pictues within one post. gl.
  6. my grandfather, father, and i share the same name. therefore I am the third and my initials are JQ nothing fancy.
  7. I have had my pathy for about a month now. I went down to charleston to visit the girlfriend and took her mudding after a day of biking. We went down a dirt road that a former potential client wants to build 200 houses on - def. no worry about trespassing. I have not been able to go off road since buying the truck and with all this rain as of late - i just had to get it dirty. So, we made some great runs through some sandy mud. slinging dirt everywhere and had some good fun for about half an hour. On our way out of the mess - there sat a nice big mud puddle off of the side of the road. thought I would take a run at it - make a mess and get a giggle out of the girlfriend. This mud was a little different - being black mud - instead of the sandy stuff from earlier - and the pathy sunk right down in it. Man did I feel stupid. I tried to get out, but i just don't own all the tools at the moment and don't have enough experience with being off road. I had all four wheels spinning and it just sunk down deeper. I almost rocked it out, but just couldn't get enough weight on the front left side of the vehicle to keep traction. Luckily, the road was actually in good condition and not far from the main road and town. Called a friend and had him pull me out with a chain. Came right out, drove home, laughed, drank a beer, ate mexican. Girlfriend had a good time all in all and we both laugh at ourselves now. I washed all the mud off underneath and inspect to make sure nothing broke. I got lucky in that sense. I know you guys are probaly going to point out exactly how wrong I was for doing this by myself without any kind of plan for recovery. I know exactly how stupid I was at the very moment that mud grabbed me. I bought a foldable shovel, tow strap, two led flashlights today. I already had on me - drinking water, food, blanket, matches, spark igniter (flint and magnesium), and assortment of tools. and two bikes enjoy the pictures - go ahead and let me know how bad it is
  8. this @!*% gets really helps out in the penetrating heats up too!
  9. tape it and keep that heat out of the engine bay. if done right it will not crack the headers. but if done wrong - especially with pacesetter - its almost for sure to have problems. some tips: get a can of high heat spray paint and put several coats on the header before taping and after taping. there are so many ways to actually tape the header, just make sure everything is dry before you put them back on the engine. of course you could bypass all of that and get ceramic coated headers
  10. x2. be smart, get the high flow cat, save the planet, AND get horsepower - no reason not to. although you could lose some low end torque.
  11. ola. muito prazer. I lived in porto alegre for a summer with a journalist of zero hora. damn i miss the chimahao (spelling is sooo wrong)
  12. what about the es9000? they are listed just a few more dollars more, but are 6000 more in es points is it worth the extra 10 bucks? what is the difference? what springs would you guys suggest to go along with this for better performance (while keeping at stock height)? is there such?
  13. oh taht is too nice. btw....welcome to the site.
  14. just wanted to drop an intro. im in charlottesville and just got my very first own pathy. not much experience in off road. but i we all got to start somewhere. i look forward to the ski season - - - snow on road season - - find a reason to drive season i mean!
  15. I got the vehicle now. Can't drive it yet bc I won't have insurance on it til tomorrow, but anyways... What do you guys suggest getting done to the vehicle for service? The last owner took care of it, but was in no way intelligent when it came to cars and trucks. I am thinking of getting the typical 30,000 mile service, coolant flush, transmission flush, and hopefully that will be it. I am worried about the timing belt, but that is an expense that I don't know if I can take on at this moment. I could probably take on a good bit of this work if I can find the time for it but will probably have a certified mechanic do most of the work. Any other issues I need to be aware of? I have been studying and searching the forums and have read the debates on flushing the transmission and will go ahead and get it done. I have inspected the frame, and of course there is some rust, but nothing a small hammer knocked through - thankfully. thanks for the good welcome. sorry for the rambline post.
  16. Hello all, my new pathfinder is being dropped off tomorrow. I had to get something while being in VA for the next two years for grad school since my last car was totaled in a hit and run my first week here and why not make it be fun and get 4x4. the new ride is a 93 pathfinder auto, w/ 188,000 on it. yeah, a lot of miles, but i know these trucks can take it - which is why i wanted it over any other suv. I am not looking to do too many mods since there are so many miles. I would like to get a brushguard and maybe a roofrack. It would be great to replace the suspension, but there isn't a budget for anything. I look forward to learning some stuff about this vehicle mainly to keep it running and maybe the occasional off road trip. My old ride: My ride as of saturday at noon.
