NoKaOiSURF Posted July 18, 2007 Share Posted July 18, 2007 ok so i got a computer from a 93 model. but still will not start but... i can now get a code other than 55, i get 11 crank angle senser does that mean i need to replace the dist. or can change just the senser? anyone have a dist. to sell cheap? i did notice with the old computer in that the dist. would make a clicking type sound oh and the tach jumps all around what does that mean? Mahalo for you time Like we told you earlier, you probably have had every single non-resistance-based sensor in that thing shorted out. The CAS would be the next big one - it's the sensor that tells the computer that the engine is turning and when it hits top dead center for cylinder 1, so it can figure out fuelling and ignition. You should be able to just replace the crank angle sensor. It's about $109 from nissanparts.cc. A reman distributor is about $200. aries247 Posted July 18, 2007 Share Posted July 18, 2007 i had to replace the whole dist. when i got the c.a.s code. checked codes after replacement and still have it. tried everything on this forum to reset computer and i still get the c.a.s fault. oh well. i still drive it daily. it spits and sputters but still drives fine down the road.
