Gripenfelter
Thanx for the info. Currently trying to find a reputable 350Z header manufacturer. Open to suggestions.
Gripenfelter
So it looks like SS autochrome is mostly having problems with turbo headers. Obviously you need much thicker material or cast manifolds for a turbo setup. Regular headers aren't going to cut it.
turbopath
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-EXHAUST...sspagenameZWDVW I know of about 10 people so far that have had good luck with obx headers. If you extend the wires, you need to use shielded/larger wire and a pair of weatherpack connectors and it will be fine. I'd personally still run a pair of high flow cats down low to be in compliance with federal regulation. (They don't really kill power anyway)
Gripenfelter
I was looking at these: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Stainless-S...091065222QQrdZ1 or http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Nissan-350Z...101030362QQrdZ1 I know the y-pipe won't fit but I can use the downpipes if they have cats. Gripenfelter
Ignore the above post. Neither of those will work. I was under the truck last night and took some measurements. The key to finding a header that will fit is to look for ones that hug the block, have an outlet that points downward (45 degrees preferred), and have a short overall length so as not to interfere with the transmission tunnel/firewall. That being said, I found a short block hugging set of headers that should fit. They are a no name brand off ebay. Just ordered them. Should have them in about 2 weeks and then off to the exhaust shop. Edited March 14, 2007 by Gripenfelter
