Cone Air Intake upgrade

Recommended Posts

I was planning on going with a K&N Filter for my 95XE, but came across this listed on AC.

Has anyone tried one of these things? And if so what is the general consensus? It boasts a 5 HP increase, and the K&N only boasted 2HP. Description and pic from their website below...

Air Intake Upgrade

Cone air filter replaces the complete stock air filter box. Designed to feed the maximum amount of air possible to the engine. 5 HP increase. Air filter included.

Price - $119.95

The "5 HP Increase" is a complete estimate. The amount of power you get out of installing one of those depends greatly on the overall condition of the engine in the first place. If you put a cone filter on a 90 HP 4-cylinder with old spark plugs and a dirty carburetor, don't expect 5 HP! ;)
