intake air temp sensor

have a 90 se v6 and i'm looking for the intake air temp sensor? dose anyone know where it is.

well there is a Mass Air Flow sensor on the intake tube..... but i'm not sure about a temp sensor

the temp sensor is part of the maf sensor.

You have to buy a whole new mas airflow sensor. Did you consider cleaning it? Maybe it has a coat of oil or dirt on it.

no nothing wrong with mine. i bought a so call performance chip off ebay and is says to install in the intake air temp plug.don't know if the chip works like they say or not but for $10.00 ill try it.

Sorry to sound blunt, but I advise that you save your time and throw it in the trash now. It is nothing but a $.02 resistor wired in line with a sensor to confuse the ECU into squirting more fuel than necessary.

Martin is right it is a ghey little resistor meant to trick your cpu. I would not try installing it into the MAF either as that could be costly mistake.

 

I read about it awhile back on some other board and if I am not mistaken, it simply goes in line with the IAT sensor and fools your CPU into thinking the air coming in is 20 degrees or so cooler hence the CPU squirts more fuel.

I feel bad they gyped you...those bastards. These things do no good, and I advise you NOT to put it in. All it does it makes you run rich and waste a LOT more gas.

Good on you! Don't expect to get your money back... Just be glad that was a relatively inexpensive lesson in "snake oil marketing".

 

Wanna buy some fuel magnets? How about a "Tornado"? An electric supercharger? How about my book on how to modify your carburetor to get 150 mpg (shhhhh... the chemical companies will put a price on my head if they knew I was selling this..)

 

Bottom line, if it sounds too good to be true, it is (well, at least 99.9% of the time).

 

But you're SOOOO lucky to have us and our bullpuckey detecting mythbusting attitudes and experiences!
