What to do, what to do

So as I updated earlier last month I bought a 95 SE, 5spd, LSD for what I thought was a steal. Turns out that it needs a new transmission or a rebuild. What I would like to get some feed back on is this... I am contemplating trading in my wifes Xterra, and the 95 Pathfinder and getting her a new Audi A4 or Lexus IS350. Or keeping the Pathfinder and turning it in to a dedicated weekend warrior. I would need to do a list of things namely a new/rebuilt transmission. But from there is where I need some help. I would have about 3000-3500 to throw at it. I need some feedback that if that were the route I go, what could I get for that amount of money?

Lift? Wheels? Tires? Brush Guards? Any ideas would help.

I would love to get a new car, but the Xterra has been with us since brand new, and I look at the 95 everyday when I go into the garage, and I wonder what if. What could I turn it into for a small amount of cash?

you can get a autotragic transmission on ebay that has less than 60,000 mils on it for 600 or less plus shipping. if you do the install yourself that will save you anywhere from 1500 to 2000 dollars

Its not a automatic, its a 5 speed

That's a fairly straightforward swap, actually. Lots of people do their own manual trans.

Rebuilding a 5-speed is quite straightforward. I would repair or replace and drive!
