revgrizzly91
The other night I went to shift from D to P after a COMPLETE stop, when I hit N and P there was this horrible grinding noise. By standers thought it sounded like my starter, the truck was running so that was negated right away. I had to shut the truck off and then shift to P. When I started it back up it went away and hasn't returned...yet. Was that the shift lock pin not disengaging or something more ominous, the tranny was just rebuilt by a qualified shop. I'd go to them but he is in the hospital undergoin' a triple bypass, so I won't bug him any time soon. Any thoughts as to what to do to fix? Thanks. 88pathoffroad
Take it back to the trans shop. There's nothing you can do to fix internal problems unless you want to pull the entire thing yourself and disassemble it.
