rennwerkes
Okay, sorry for so many questions, but the new tires have this protective stuff on the white lettering and I'm at a loss on how to remove it. Any suggestions? TIA!!!
88pathoffroad
Degreaser or tire cleaner.
rennwerkes
Thanks! Never thought about those two things. I'll give it a try.
TerranoNZ
Just plan old water as it's water based oh and a cloth (unless they use blue paint in USA) . I'm not such a big fan of putting Degreaser on tyres.
jason
When I worked at Les Schwab all of the new tires with white wall lettering came with a protective blue coating. We used "White Wall Cleaner" to remove it, something that should have been done at the place where you bought your tires. Unless you had them shipped directly to you, I'd go back to where you got them and have them remove it for you. It should be considered part of the purchase. Chriskaw440
believe it or not, one of the best and inexpensive things I use to clean tires with, is SOFT SCRUB, the same bathroom cleaning stuff. Just a squirt some on a brush and water down the tire, works beautifully!!!!! makes tires look like new again, but with out the glossy look of course. No harsh chemicals. Not a big fan of that. I just put new white letter tires on my Pathy and yeah usually the tire place should wash the blue stuff off with a hose at least but some do and some dont. My guys water line was busted so they couldn't do it in my case....hell no big deal in my book.
