Rickp57
Something is causing my Pathfinder to get way too much fuel. I have it in the shop right now and it has the first mechanic stumped so he is calling in the big gun owner/head guy. They have checked most everything now except the MAS and the cooling temp sensor, these are being checked/replaced today if necessary. When I finally had to take it to the shop the plugs were wet fouled and there was fuel in the oil. They got it running a bit better but it still wasn't right so they are continuing to work on it. I'm just curious if anyone has had any issues such as this with their rig lately. And, if so, what was your find? I've only had it 3 weeks. bought it used with 124k miles. So far I love it and hope this is just a bad timing thing and not an eventual lemon problem, which I highly doubt. Anyway, if you have any helpful ideas to toss in please do so. Thanks, Rickp57
yozsi
sounds like the injector driver is fried in the ecu. i dunno, does it run? check engine light work? can you pull the codes?
88pathoffroad
Could be sticking injectors, bad O2 AND MAF sensor, bad TPS as well, bad fuel pressure regulator...I dunno. There's no way to tell until you get into it and start testing things.

Rickp57
Thanks guys, great suggestions. I took it into the shop, got it back last night. They tested all of those things previously suggested or mentioned, all was fine. What they did find was that the distributor had been removed at one time and reinstalled one tooth off, and the timing was then advanced an additional 15 degrees to 30. The mechanic repositioned the distributor and it was fine. They replaced the coolant temp sensor, thermostat, plugs and changed the oil etc. $400 later it runs great but I still am not convinced any of these things caused the fuel issue. How could it have? I tend to believe it is more something like a sticky injector. Everything else checked out fine, for now. Thanks to all! Rickp57
k9sar
run her for awhile. If there is an injector problem, the ECU should tell you. Glad to hear you're back on the road.
