Adjusting wheel stop

I allways hated the lack of turn radius on my Pathy. My Wrangler could make a u turn on a dime. So I checked underneath and saw the stops. My truck currently has the stockies on it and has lots of room for adjustment. I checked in my service manual and could find nothing about it. There is a knob on the end which can make some kind of circular motion on top of a regular bolt. then goes into a 1" nut. What is the method for making adjustments. I dont want to strip anything.

First, Wranglers have a shorter wheel base so would naturally have a shorter turn radius. According to the 94 FSM the Pathy should inner wheel should stop at 31-35 degrees and the outer at 29-33 degrees (6 degrees less with 31x10.5 tires). The adjustment is done by loosening the lock nuts and turning the bolts in or out. Both wheels are adjusted in each full turn.

yeah i've got 31x10.5's on my 95 pathy and noticed the turning radius got even worse. you guys think it's really that bad an idea to adjust it? i can't see anythin all that bad happenin if you're just pullin a u turn but i definitly wouldn't be crankin the wheel doin 50 lol

It just seems that the further it turns, the better chance you have at hitting a good rut and breaking a half shaft or something to me....the harsher the angles, the easier to break.....bu then again that is just my opinion, I am by no means a mechanic....good luck.

i do know on the earlier pathys u could pay for the 31x1.5R15s but most came with the 235 75 r15 (i think) and in the FSM theres 1 call outs for the length of the stop and i had the 235's (or whatever they were) and put the 31's on and i get tire rub on the frame rail...

my cousin put wider rims and tires (think 11.5 or so on the wheels but not sure) on my 95 b4 i bought it running 31s and i had to crank the t bars and do some shaving on the fenders/flares/ and that piece across the front and if i hit a good bump they'll grab the flares and fenders...

u could take them off if u wanted and increase the risk of breaking stuff...or u can just let the frame rails stop the tires but i wouldnt advise that...and also my 87 had a lot better turning radius than my 95
