Radiator Leaking

My pathfinders radiator has sprung a small leak. It is a small area along the top front of the radiator. It a small area that looks wet after engine warms up. There are signs of spray surrounding the area when the leak first happened I guess. Does anyone have expierience with the Stop Leak stuff for radiators? Or should I repalce the radiator? One more question: Will a faulty O2 sensor cause poor fuel mileage?

Thanks in advance

oh the horror of the thought of stop leak! ahhhhhhhhhhhhh.. if it is leaking, it will only get worse, reair if possible or renew. try to find exactly where it's leaking, if it is between the metal top and the fins, you may be able to quick fix with some JB weld.

yes, a bad o2 sensor can make a pathy run like ass for sure. is the ECU throwing codes? or a garage told you it's bad? or your pathy is just running rough so yer guessing? if you're guessing, don't. o2 sensors are NOT cheap...... ;)

Yeah I got the code for the right rear 02. But before I replaced it I had to replace the battery so without power for a while the computer reset I guess and now the check engine light is not on. Im guessing the O2 is probably still bad? And my fuel mileage does suck.

And I will try the jb weld.

well, run it and see what happens as far as the codes. it may come back after a while.

yeah, if it's not leaking in the fins, the jb weld may work. i am a devout hater of the stop leak crap, as the mess bars leak made of my poor pathy's original motor was no joke. blocked it up like a constipated woman. not pretty. I will never use that stuff again! or anything like it. :nono:

I would try the JB weld and if you plan on traveling for any length of time keep an eye on it. I had a friend who used the jb weld on the corner of the top tank on his radiator and it just ended up sprouting a bigger leak right next to the jb weld.

Sealed a very leaky head gasket with Liquid Glass/Water Glass once. but you won't find that in an auto parts store.

I was driving down Hwy167 and suddenly noticed that NO ONE was around me anymore (busy part of the day too), take a look in my rearview and all I could see was a white cloud

Pulled over and as the cloud dissipated I saw a mixture of emotions come through it... some drivers extremely pissed off at me while some thought it was funny as hell

Sold that car four or five years later and in that time I never had another problem with a water leak.
