Extreme90path
Ok guys, I haveing some issues with a nizzy I took on as a project for some extra bucks on the side of work. It's a 87 HB with the VG30i. Same as in the 2door pathys 89 and before. Well anyways. It hesitates hard core right at 2500 RPMS. I can't get it to go above that no matter what. When Driving, in N and revving. It just won't do it. So anyways pulled codes. Got a 12 and a 43. 12 is a MAF code and 43 is a TPS code. SOOO My question is how would be the best way to tackle this project. A shop did some Diagnosis on it (i think the shop was wrong). They said the injector driver is bad, and the ecm is bad. So they were going to replace all the injectors and the ECM. But I don't think that is the problem considering the ECM is pulling codes properly. Also the engine runs great before 2500 rpms. So any Ideas would be very helpfull. Thankyou!
mws
I would start by doing the static tests on the MAF and TPS sensors. If one was defective, it would confuse the heck out of the ECM.
88pathoffroad
It's doing exactly what it's supposed to. The ECU limits the RPM's to 2800 +/- if either the MAF or TPS malfunctions. Try pulling and cleaning the MAF sensor and make sure the connectors are good for both the MAF and TPS.
