Caanot turn ignition key. Help!

So went to head out this morning, notice someone broke into the Pathy, nothing was missing :o

 

Now I cannot turn the key in the ignition to get er started. The little black button on the side seems to be stuck. Tried 2 different keys, mine and the womans, still no go. Wiggled the steering wheel turning the key, nadda.

 

I am by no means a mechanic I admit

 

Could it be possible the would be thieves caused some damage to the tumblers?

 

Do I need a new ignition assembly?

 

Anything I missed?

 

I love my Pathy, she has yet to let me down

 

Anyone has any suggestions, advice, would appreciate it. :help:

Does it look like the ignition was tamppered with? Could've had a screwdrivewr jammed in it and messed up the tumblers. Does the key fit in it. I should've asked that first. Good luck bud!

Thanks for the response, I ended up going to the wreckers and replacing the ignition thingy, the wrecker dude says it is pooched. Works all good now, just need to use a separate key for the ignition :cool2:

sounds like you got lucky and the bastards weren't able to start it with a screwdriver. could have been MUCH worse

:o as all of the above and they didn't take ANYTHING??? wtf? i am uber glad for that small mercy but i guess since they couldn't get it started. they decided that's all they wanted it for.. a joy ride........ little bastiges
