IFS front end problems...

while ago I took a curve in the road and had a crazy vib from the front end. almost like a flat spot in the bearings. happend for a few days in a row. then it dissapeard. few days later notice 2 of the studs that holp my manual hubs on(superwinch) had backed then selves alll the way out. drove for ever like this, no problems tho. yesterday I put thread lock on the two and tighten em down. and today I got the damn vib back??? any ideas?

 

and, lock the hubs, put it in 4 wheel, and the truck pulls like an SOB in either direction. and when acc. the passanger side tire will toe in about and inch(like, ALOT). but as soon as I take it out of 4wheel the sterring gets better. when on the ground I can "turn" the tire with my hands, TREs seem good, btu the CL twists and the Idle arm has play on the shaft. is there a bushing that is worn out up there? and the CL, anybody weld bearings inplace of the chitty littl balljoint thing?

it's your CL.. see L&P performance for the fix.

I'd guess the Cl and tre's are fubared, but could go all the way to control arm/compresion arm bushings, etc... Have you checked the wheel bearings in the last xx,xxx miles ? You definitely need front end work, and like MZ pointed out, it's best to try to fix it right.

You can fix the bushings in the idler arm yourself for $14 if you have a dealership nearby. New bushings for it are cheap and I bet that's a good part of why it's wobbly.
