I found this video I like so that I wanted to share with you
type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="505"></embed></object>" wmode="transparent" style="width:400px; height:326px;" id="VideoPlayback" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashvars=""> -
Hey guys..
As you probably read, there is a ticking noise coming from my engine. I have assumed for about 6 months now that it was just the Exhaust manifolds ticking, but I had the manifolds done this summer and the ticking still exists.
And yes I have checked and changed my oil in the last 6 months.
The sound comes and goes like:....bbbrrrrrtick......TICK TICK TICKTICK..tick...brrrrrr and seems to go away once the car gets warm.
So I am really not sure what is next.... I tried SEAFOAM last spring, with no results.
Any suggestions?
A little video that you may be able to hear the ticking on, I tried the video with the hood open first but the engine noise drowned it out.... so that's why the hood is shut in this video.
this is my engine is the noise is same as yours when starting ?? then I am afraid i have to do a lots of repairs

so it was 9o'clock then?
No problem just pass it on the next time somone needs to know what you already do.
sure no problem
and sorry is more like 10 o'oclok the wire no @1
-
- Remove your cap from the distro and trace the #1 wire to the # 1 point. (the wire orientation and the points orientation are not the same)
- now using a large wench on your crank bolt turn your engine untill the timing mark lines up with 0 on the ballencer (the first tick mark on the left)
- Now with the rotate the rotor to just a little before where the #1 point would be (9 o'clock pos IIRC) and insert it into the head. It will turn a little when you insert it and once it has done this it should end up facing the #1 point.
- If it seems like its pointing more towards where 2 or 6 should be then pull it out and ajust your starting point so that it finishes @ #1.
- once lined up put you cap and wires back on and set your base timing (engine warm, Idle 600-700, no a/c radio or ligths) @ 15 deg then set your idle back to normal 800-900
edit;
someone plz correct me if #1 point is not @ 9 o'clock.
is working is working!!!!
thank you very much MY1path!!!
I have no way to pay you this

Hi all
Well I was changing the head covers gaskets and remove the distributor and I totally forget to mark the position and affected the timing while removing/installing the cap/rotor so now I doesn't start and I don't know how adjust the time of the distributor Is there any way to re-timing it again what do i need to do?
help me please

I don't know a lot from models of brands and I can't see the difference as far as I know now the ones I have are Bosch halogen

if your wire is grounding on something than you light will not come on. It should not effect your cold stating, if you leave the key on run for a few sec before craking it that might help.

I notice the cable is connected to some where else

The sport/touring switch changes the valving inside the original adjustable shocks. The sport setting makes the shocks stiffer and the touring setting makes the shocks softer.
So now I have normal shock absorbers in order to re use this feature I have to search for special ones with this valving inside ? and I believe those are a bit expensive than normal
Thank you

If you are talking about what I think you are, there is no actual switch inside the car. There is the oil pressure sending unit (sometimes called a switch) that is located next to the oil filter. There is a single wire that goes to it and it should be part of the same cable that goes to the starter. The wire you are looking for to re-attach to the sending unit should have an orange/brown rubber cover on the end. It is basically a reed switch that makes contact when there is enough oil pressure. When the pressure of the oil is too low to operate the switch it turns on the light in your dash. Is your oil light on?
yes is exactly what I am talking the about the oil pressure sending unit called switch in the user manual and nope my oil signal only turn on when I open the switch before start my engine and then goes out may something is wrong with it or the cable is receiving signal some where else I'm gong to star looking for the orange/browm cord to see if is still in the main harness
can this oil pressure sending unit cause the engine takes long to start? this happened to me since a while specially when the engine is totally cold in the morning
thank you
-
no pictures because no much room for so, but the diagram below show the location is next to the oil filter below the manifolds exhaust in the right side of the engine
-
Hello again every one
I notice this morning that my oil pressure switch was not connected or plugged anywhere and I search for he cable but didn't found it. I see in the user manual but not pretty sure which one is it Do you know where this signal come from I only found a connector that used to be for the "sport - touring" shock absorber and I search inside but I didn't found any loosen cable to figure out is from there
also if you can tell me what is the function of this switch?
thank you
