  1. Cool, yeah I'm the captain of Auburn University's Baja team this year, and redesigning a double wishbone suspension with a roll induced rear steer setup. If any of ya'll are in Louisville KY, we'll be racing there September 25th, and ya'll might enjoy the races in the spring. (Kansas, Illinois, and Alabama this year) While I'd like to support the people building for the R50s, if any of ya'll are near Chattanooga TN or Auburn AL, I'll help ya make one of these supports when I make mine.
  2. the 89-95 toyota crowd have been using similar IFS trusses for a while. Sonoran steel and several other companies make them for 4runners. I'm glad to see someone start producing similar products for the R50s. Mine will see this upgrade soon. (just got to finish a tire carrier first)
  3. You might also want to check under the rear bumper. I've got a 99.5 that I pulled the flares on earlier this year. It spent the first year of its life in New York and then the rest of its time in Tennessee, but even I have had some issues with rust. I pulled the bumpers off to start on some custom bumpers and found a nice hole behind the rear cover. So now before I can finish the bumpers I have to fix this spot. (same hole just knocked the rust out.) Might also want to check behind the plastic front wheel well liners, as I had a good amount of random dirt and stuff packed in there. And I have never wheeled this truck.
  4. I just ran into this same problem on my 99.5 pathfinder. Was running Cragar Soft 8's from 4wheelparts. Ground the caliper and all is fine, but it drove me crazy trying to find out what was rubbing at first. (Thought I'd screwed up on installing the brakes). For those looking at 15" wheels, the lower corner of the caliper rubbed on one of the lips inside the wheel, right where it gets smaller toward the outside. You can see through the holes in the wheel and observe the rubbing.
