  1. They probably worked 2 years ago when he posted them
  2. looks like a sub frame drop like Max Stryker had...just a bunch of 3" blocks welded in.
  3. hah I used to work in the kitchen there for 2 years. I take no responsibility for whatever happened!!
  4. hahaha I work at Cactus Club. Which one did you go to?
  5. mmm food for thought, you could always plug the intake pipe when you go offroading if you know you're going to be going through water, the intake would still get enough air without that pipe I take it.
  6. I don't know what the actual air flow differences are between the muffler and resonator, but no, they are not the same. You have exhaust which comes off of both sides of your engine, each through an exhaust manifold and through a catalytic converter. They both go into the muffler and exit through one pipe which runs through the resonator. The tail pipe rusted off of my resonator last spring and I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet ($$). I just plan to cut it out and run a straight pipe back from the muffler.
  7. The actual intake for the airbox is pretty much behind the driver side turn signal, so you don't need very deep water to take in water. As to the question though, sorry, no idea At least you got it trail fixed though!
  8. I've done a lot of mountain highway driving and have never noticed brake fade, but to be honest you don't really need your brakes that much...even with an auto transmission you can turn off overdrive or downshift to second, and even without, holding your brakes on for the length of a hill is just a waste of your brake pads. Even just in regular driving the few times I've had to brake quickly I was impressed with how well my brakes responded. I'd love to do a rear disc conversion but only because I get a hard on for making my pathy better. I could never justify the cost until I both noticed and was noticably affected by brake fade.
  9. If you've still got the skid plates in a while (when I can spare the money ) I'd be interested, good excuse to go on a road trip
  10. Gastown is nice during the day but its crackhead central at night. If you want to see Vancouver's homeless problem then head down that way, or a few blocks closer to the waterfront. But it is really nice during the day, great stores, lots of old brick, a lot of history. White Rock is nice but not worth the drive if you're staying in Vancouver. It's a bit of a commute. Same as Pt. Roberts, it's nice, but there are better things closer to Vancouver. I'd much rather go to the extensive Vancouver waterfront before I drove down to White Rock or further. Grouse grind, you'll scare the man away from Vancouver man But if you like hiking then its a good, short, local trail with something worthwhile at the end. Just remember it's called the Grouse Grind for a reason (straight up hill). Few more ideas for the Vancouver area itself: If you're looking for bars check out the Granville strip on weekends, I'm pretty sure they're still closing down sections of Granville Street on Fri & Sat nights so there aren't the fights there used to be. Roxy is usually a good vibe with live music but there are a whole bunch of bars and clubs within a few blocks so plenty to choose from. If you're down in Granville Island area for dinner, theres a great improv comedy club down there (www.vtsl.com). Good theatre sports shows on Friday & Saturday nights with an "unrated" late show. If you ever watched Whoes Line is it Anyway, Ryan Styles and Colin Mochary both had their start there as well as a few other comedians (that long haired dude from The Lone Gunmen...) If you're doing the family / girlfriend type trip then the waterfront of West Vancouver is nice (north side of the inlet), area called Lonsdale with nice shops / restaurants and there is a beach called Dundarave thats a great family type beach (MILFs galore) with a good restaurant overlooking the water. But yeah, Aquarium is good, haven't been since before they got rid of the orcas but its good. New baluga whale baby I think. Could go check out the maritime museum too before the **** government shuts it down. but yeah, lots of interesting areas, got any questions just shout.
  11. Vancouver BC? Taking the gondola up Grouse Mountain is always a popular tourist desitnation, no better view of the city. Easy to kill a day walking around Vancouver, walk downtown a bit, go around the seawall, go down to Granville Island and check out the markets, if the weathers nice keep heading along to Kits beach to check out the wildlife.
  12. whats the backspacing on those rims Trainman?
  13. Clunking noise in general or when you make a turn? If it's the latter it's probably a CV axle.
  14. Eh, the dealership my brother worked for for a number of years certainly let a few things slide on warranty for staff and family that they would not have done for a regular customer.
  15. Mm that just looked like a piece of flexpipe to me last I was under my truck....why have a resonator coming off of only one side? If it were another muffler, resonator or some type of pollution control I imagine that there would be one coming off of each manifold as it's silly to only do it off of one. Eventually when I have the tools and can justify the cost I'd like to do a cat-back full dual exhaust but I haven't actually looked into how best to do that yet.
  16. Ever heard of sticking a potato in a tailpipe? Blocked tailpipes and the buildup of pressure when you try to start your vehicle = bad things. If your exhaust is full of water then the exhaust has nowhere to go. No water would actually get back up into the engine, I just wouldn't try starting your truck if it stalls under water
  17. I wouldn't say it's more work to replace just the boot, it's just you have to nearly remove the entire CV axle to get the boot off so you may as well replace the whole shebang since you've already done the majority of the work. Dealership charged me the same number of labour hours to replace only the boot as they would have to replace the entire axle, you just save the cost of actual axle. Of course no nissan dealer would just replace the boot for you since it's policy to replace the entire axle whenever the boot cracks...
  18. My tail pipe rusted out at the resonator and I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet ($$) but I do intend on just cutting out the whole resonator and running a pipe back. I can definitely hear the difference but it's not very much louder. I rather like it, I joke about it being my ricer exhaust since it currently looks like I have a 4" tail pipe.
  19. Water gets inside the exhaust and acts in a fashion extremely similar to a potato.
  20. Offtopic, but jeez that a bar must destroy your approach angle...I almost ripped my bumper off a couple times today stock
  21. I know mine is cracked because I can hear a bit of an exhaust leak, I'm just praying it can hold out for as long as possible until I actually have some money to throw at it.
  22. I'm glad it got pulled out, though if something had gone wrong there would be a whole lot of @!*% flying around right now. I did also quite enjoy reading the 10 pages or so of drama over at bc4x4
  23. Offer him half of what you sold it for
  24. Highly unlikely I'd find the time until late august
