i have replaced the coil,distributor,plug wires,ignition module,but still the coil has a strong spark but when it gets to the distributor it is weak and orange and the pathy still does not start.

one of my side marker lights does not come on i checked the bulb still good what could it be.

engine doesnt start just turns over getting gas really weak orange spark from the distributor.

For the coil we stick a spark plug in the coil wire end and ground it on the engine block.all the ignition wires are about a 1,000 miles old, for the distributor we just take a spark plug out with the wire on it and ground it.

what dont get is the coil has a bright fire, but when it gets to the distributor it gets weak spark. and the distributor cap and rotor is all new. would this ignition module cause this.

i just priced one at $80.00 does that sound about right for price.

it the black one with fins on it. if it went out would you still get voltage thru it?cause my voly meter says 12.56 volts. would this stop the computer from receiving the signal as in a error 21.thanks so much

dude im bad at finding things but i dont see a gray box towards the firewall if you could please post a pic. thanks for helping a newb like me.

is it located on the mounting bracket with the coil or is it somwhere else. if you could please post pics of it location thanks

could the power resistor cause a weak spark if it went out

I got a error code 21 today, and my chilton manual says it caused by the power transistor not sending a signal to the ECU. Where is the power transistor located and are they cheap and easy to replace.

thanks i will try to adjust the bolt and see if she starts at all

would adjusting the bolt on the dizzy on the base put the timing at least closer so it can at least start.

whats TDC im a newb to all of this.

this morning i went to the truck to get the error codes and the truck almost started very weak though.and could the timing be off so much it could cause this,because when i put the replacement dizzy in i got as close as i could get to the original timing on the old distributor.

i got error code 21 what does it mean and how do i fix it

this is a pretty new distributor we get good spark out of the coil but out of the distributor we get a weak orange spark

yes i have tried taking the coil wire and putting a spark plug on it and got a good spark of off of the coil.and ill check what the volt is under cranking.

My 88 pathfinder v6 has a weak orange spark and will not start,i have replaced the coil,wires,distributor still nothing i have no idea what it could be. it's getting 12v to the coil and is getting gas.

there not soaked in gas but when it turns over you can smell gas out the tail pipe raw gas

we got fuel we smell it and the sparkplugs have gas on them but we have a weak light orange spark and the truck turns over but never starts.

well i replaced the whole distributor so i dont think the crank angle sensor is off this information will help

i replaced the distributor and the coil new spark plugs too and the pathy still does not start all i get is a weak orange spark and it does not start i dont know what else i can replace.

where do you check it at an to test it does the truck have to turn over or just be on
