  1. Thanks guys.I,m not having problems with it right now,but am basically stripping all unnecessary items that I possibly can, whether its to increase performance or to just make maintenance easier.I'm building a hunting, fishing, camping and generally goofing off in the woods vehicle that I can also use as a daily driver if I want. I'll probably have more stupid questions later, but promise I'll try to make sure I search older posts first. Thanks .
  2. Original color was burgundy, but clear coat was peeling on hood and fender so I started sanding and priming in prep for a paint job. It was stolen in Dec 17 and the day before it was stolen,a friend and I were painting tree stands, and I left about 5 cans of camo spray paint in the backseat. The theif decided to give it a paint job with my camo paint,I assume to help avoid the cops. The idiots did so much damage to it that I haven't gotten to the body work yet,but I'm thinking about going forest green,or maybe a coyote tan. I'll decide someday soon I hope.
  3. I own a 91 Pathfinder and was wondering about deleting the EGR,and I have several questions. What are the pros and cons? BTW,I live in Alabama so no emission issues legally. Can anyone give me step by step instructions or point me in the direction to find them?
  4. My 91 had started making a roaring noise in 1st,2nd and 5th gear,so I took it to a transmission shop to get it checked. I was told the tranny was in VERY BAD shape ,and that they wouldn't rebuild a manual trans older than 10 years. Five transmission shops refused to rebuild it. At the time I worked at a national auto parts store,so I looked up a rebuilt one. Price was $2400 , BUT, supplier did not have one in stock. In fact,I tried every place that was suggested to me in the U.S. and got the same answer. Nobody had one,and I had just about given up. About 9 months later I rode with a friend to a repair shop that specialized in foreign autos that just happened to be about 5 miles from my house. I had totally forgotten about this place because its kinda way off the beaten track. I saw a wrecked Pathfinder in the salvage yard and casually mentioned to the shop owner the trouble I was having finding a 5 speed manual for a 4x4. He stopped what he was doing, walked over to a corner and looked at several transmissions sitting there and says," YUP! I thought I still had this one! Its yours for $400,and I'll install it for $550 more." Just got it back from him a few weeks ago and she runs perfectly now. So , for me , the hardest thing to find was a 5 speed manual for a 4x4. By the way, this guy has several Pathfinders and D21 pickups of various year model on his yard and said he has access to several more that a friend has so if you are having trouble finding something, hit me up and I can check with him. I've already purchased several other items from him and am going to get several others in the near future.
