  1. Hey guys, I just took apart my dash on my '92 to change a few bulbs. While changing the 'meter light' bulbs, i noticed there wasnt a 'socket plug' for a check engine service light(hole but no 'socket). Looking in my Haynes manual, the check engine light should be above the Park Break light. I shone a flashlight throught the hole above the brake light, and there was nothing on the front face of the cluster! No silk screen letters or anything but a yellow lens(like the brake light). I was concerned about this cause the check engine light is important, and its' supposed to come on briefly when you start the engine, and it doesnt. When i start the engine, i get: seat belt warning, battery, ANTI-LOCK. they come on for about 5 seconds and then shut off. My brake light is SUPPOSED to come on but doesn't. The bulb is fine. If this was a fuse issue, wouldn't no lights come on? Any ideas, suggestions? Rants? I am prolly missing something; i am a newb after all... thanks in advance guys! Al
  2. Hey 88, U wouldn't happen to have part numbers that i would need for this air intake conversion would you? The generic cone filter would be a K&N? And the adapter plate, is that a Nissan 'dealer' only item? It seems that there are no air intake kits up here in canada for the 92 Pathy. thanks so much for your help. al

thanks for the quick reply 88. Whew! The gauge? Thank the gods! I was out and about today scrounging parts, and i was expecting my battery to explode or something! can the stock gauge be repaired/adjusted in any way? or will i need to replace it? So i went out today and picked up this Battery tester today fro $25 buck CDN! Considering it has a 50 amp load tester on it, i thought it was a sweet deal! The tester confirmed that everything is fine! see ya all on the trails, eh! Al

    alternator

Hey Guys! Well on my FIRST day of driving my new trail demon! 92 pathy v6, power everything, 5spd, AC I noticed the Volmeter was reading 18v CONSTANTLY! So using a multimeter, i checked: the battery engine off: 12.7v the battery, engine running at idle: 14.? volts the gauge reads 18v throughout my driving, and doesnt seem to change except when i turn off the truck! I turned on a few things(AC,HL,etc), and the gauge dipped slightly with the engine running. I was thinking that my dash gauge is messed up, cause 14v isnt that bad... Is my gauge messed up or my voltage regulator in my alternator fried? thanks much for yer input guys. Al
