Geez that's huge! Now that it's been done for a while, what are your thoughts? Anything you'd still like to change, or would do different next time? How well does it go down the road, any big issues with shaking or death wobble? I'd imagine that little V6 is struggling with those meats, even with good gearing.

I know this post hasn't been visited in awhile, but is that 1/4" graph paper you made those designs on?

Not great odds that you'll get on a reply on a 5 year old post, so I'll throw my 2 cents out there. Looks like engineering paper to me, which would have 0.2" spacing on the grids. :my2cents:

  3. This is an intentional feature of the forum, you're not supposed to attach pictures that way, hence why the file size limit is so small. IIRC that option only exists because it came along with a forum update a little while ago. If NPORA hosted everybody's pictures in addition to everything else, that would massively increase the cost of running the server. You'll need to host your pictures externally (there's several free services online to do this, don't use PhotoBucket) and insert the image by URL using the tool in the post editor. There's a couple how-to's in the pics and videos section of the forum.

Let me know if you have further questions.

  4. READ AND FOLLOW THE RULES!
NOMINATIONS AND POSTS NOT CONFORMING TO THE RULES LINED OUT BELOW WILL BE DELETED WITHOUT NOTIFICATION.
    1. You can nominate only Pathfinder/Terrano/QX4 trucks belonging to Registered NPORA Forum Members. New members will have to wait 3 months and have a post count of 100 before they can be nominated. Members who are banned, currently on suspension or for 1 month after their return from suspension will also be disallowed.
(If you are banned you won't be able to be nominated for 2 months).

    TOTM: THEMED MONTHS

The idea was put forward by packie88 with then intention of getting people out in their pathys to get themed shots.

It is only each alternate month that is themed, so you can post up whatever pic you want in the in between month (Some people will never see snow).

It is a kind of rule, but a loose one. For example, water crossing nominations may be considered if there is a mud crossing, the truck is in water, or crossing the road in a torrential rainpour. If you post up a pic with no water in sight, then that will be removed.

    Below are the monthly themes:

    January Anything goes

    February Snow pic

    March Anything goes

    April Water crossing pic

    May Anything goes

    June Sand pic

    July Anything goes

    August Flex pic

    September Anything goes

    October Sunset pic

    November Anything goes

    December Mud pic

This nomination thread is open through October 20 or until 20 submissions are reached (whichever comes first).

  5. Uhhhh necro-thread? Thread-undead? Zombie-thread? IDK what you wanna call it, but I'm bringing this back, because  :offtopic:! (You never did find that other thread @RedPath88, here's your 11 year late reminder lol, although I couldn't dig it up either so who knows...)

Is there a decent RC community lurking around this forum? I feel like most car guys have at least one on a shelf somewhere. After a recent socially-distanced board meeting at my place a couple months ago for my local 4x4 club (Two Trackers) where some RC's got pulled out of the basement for some fun, a lot of members starting buying their own rigs or fixing up old ones. It's been quite the hoot between fullsize club trail rides. I still haven't done the Pathfinder build I've been wanting to due to a lack of good body options, but the chassis options are really good now, especially with Element RC's (Team Associated in disguise) IFS stuff.

I've got a second gen 4Runner on an SCX10 chassis that's painted and detailed to look vaguely like an SAS'd version of my old QX4, but sure would be cooler if it had more distinctive Nissan body lines and IFS.

You know the Nissan Pathfinder R50

But have you seen the Nisyota FJ Finder

    Or the Toysan PathRunner

I think my Nissan & Toyota DNA are starting to mix!?! Or at least my girl stepped in something!

Gonna keep that last set on there? (5th gen 4Runner Trail Edition wheels right? Maybe just SR5 wheels, idk) It looks sharp, kinda blingy but not too much in my opinion. Makes the whole truck look a bit newer.

MREs are guaranteed to last 7 years, up to 14, with inspections on all years after 7.
However, that depends on the "store in a cool dry place".
The warmer it gets, the faster it expires. Storing in a vehicle, where the temperatures can exceed 120 easily and regularly, an MRE can expire in a single summer.

That is some seriously good information, thanks man! Any chance you have recommendations on something that would store better in a car? I just like to have something with me for emergencies, but I hope I don't need it regularly, so I don't want to be throwing out MRE's every now and again.

Perhaps I could just swap out the MRE annually and eat the old one.

  9. I don't carry nearly as much as I used to, unless I go wheeling obviously.

Basic recovery gear (mostly for winter, but it stays in year-round)

Jumper cables (pretty much the only thing I ever actually need)

An MRE (which I forgot was in there for a while...I wonder when it expires, do they??)

Camp chair (waiting for people in style ?)

Almost always have a camera with me too, but that doesn't live in the car.

Just the stock tire change tools, but I don't even have a spare...with all the crap I had in there before, I lost all the utility of the vehicle due to having a full trunk, and I'd have to go get my keys and walk outside everytime I needed a screwdriver, so no more toolboxes or spare parts live in the trunk.

I guess I've used all my allotted pic space? I'll post some pics on the NPORA fb page tonight..

As @R50JR said, that page isn't associated with this forum in any way other than name and some member overlap. If you need help with pics feel free to reach out, or check out one of the how-to's posted in the pics and vids section of the forum! While the option to upload (very small) pictures to the forum exists, this feature is greatly limited intentionally to save server space. The solution for NPORA posting is to host the pictures externally and share them using the image's direct link and the post editor's built in tool to embed them.

First nomination. I missed Sand month, and I’m not on sand anyway, but in the Great Sand Dunes NP on Medano pass. Two for one special with my friend Fred’s ‘95. What a fun time with great people!

Nice looking pair of trucks! Was this first pic the one you wanted to see used for the voting at the end of the month?

  12. Even with camber bolts, it is extremely unlikely that you will be able to align it with over 2.5" of lift without an SFD. CV axle angle is far from the only issue related to lifting, so you're not a ton better off with a 2wd. A 2.5" spacer lift in the front should be a safe and alignable option for your rig.
