  1. I meant as in the gauge isnt reading correctly due to the sending unit. The pump is running fine, the fuel gauge was accurate to E until a few weeks ago, but now when i can really hear the gas sloshing around and its close to 1/4 tank i have to put gas in to be safe.
  2. Not today but in the last month...... Dec 26th reverse went out in transmission. Found a used one out of a 96 for 400$ and swapped it out, took 4 days doing it by myself. Jan 5/6 started stalling and acting weird just below a 1/4 tank, figured out sending unit is crapping out so now i have to watch fuel level. Jan 9 replaced fuel filter and did an oil change. Feb 27 She started running like crap trying to stall and massive idle fluctuations. Put gas in it, didn't help. Ran normal once it sat and cooled down but started acting up at operating temp again. So i cleaned the maf sensor and found a cracked vacuum line on the evap canister. The exhaust was stinking like rotten eggs so i figured it was fuel related. I just had it emissions tested on 2/25 and it passed with flying colors so i figured it couldn't be the cat or 02 sensor. After cleaning the maf and replacing the vacuum line she seems to be back to normal. Fingers crossed!
  3. The bumper is the same, the brackets are different. But you can use pathy brackets and it will fit. I have a chrome truck bumper on my 95 i got from the junk yard. The front valance is different too. The trucks use bolt/screws into the core support and pathys use clips. The truck valance does line up with most of the holes and fender flares but you would have to figure out how to mount it solidly.
  4. Well I think I got it, vacuum line from back of manifold to the fuel pressure regulator? Fell off on the rough road. Replaced it and it's idling smooth and running good again.
  5. Ok well I just got home from a fun ride to the parts store! So far I've only put a little over 200 mi on my 95, it's just over 157k now. It was parked for almost 4 years so working out bugs but this is new. A couple days ago it was idling high when I pulled up to the house, I put it in park and revved it up a bit and it lurched backwards a bit? Today went to pick up steering hose for it and at 2nd red light it starts surging/idling up and down from almost 0 to 1100 rpm and blowing black smoke. It drives fine revvs fine above idle when I get going again. Got stuck at another light it stalls completely, but fires right back up. Pull into gas station put 5 gal in and fire back up and it's idling at maybe 2/300 chugging blowing black smoke again. Made it to store, left again train coming didn't want to wait so hopped on highway ran 2 miles at 65 no problem. Got stuck at 2 more red lights and it idled normal around 800 no issues! So now I'm perplexed. Seems like it's running rich at idle suddenly. Temp gauge only ever reads at 1/4 sweep max so does it think it's running cold? Think I have a blown flange gasket on drivers side exhaust possibly throwing off the o2 sensor. Fun times, no cel on either oh well figured I'd post to help others like similar posts. Any input it appreciated and will post my findings.
  6. Should be a switch on the center console right side toward the rear. It's a small rocker switch. If you don't have a key fob to arm\disarm the security system use the key on the driver's door to lock and unlock which should also turn the security system off. If your lights are flashing and it won't crank that's the factory security system.
  7. So here is my 95. Finally got to drive it a bit today. Got it a couple weeks ago but needed to get it registered. So it's been parked since 2012 more or less for unknown reasons other than the girl who drove it had an accident of some kind and wiped out the passenger front corner. The guy I got it from took it apart to fix it but never did and it just sat in his yard collecting leaves and dust through the open sunroof. I straightened out the core support and fender enough to put it back on. Front bumper is gone and the pass bumper bracket is pushed back about an inch. I put the turn signals back on a la prowler style bolted to the brackets for now. Took it over for an oil change today which it needed badly. Typically I do all my own wrenching but can't beat 25 bucks and not getting dirty sometimes! The shop manager said they smelled gas in the oil so I'm going to have to watch that, probably bad injector seals from sitting so long. I have a decent list of repairs that it needs, all typical maintenance stuff really. I do have a vacuum leak to track down soon. Idle fluctuates when the oil fill cap is removed running. Power steering hoses are leaking at the reservoir. Brakes, strut bushings, trans service. It runs good and smooth but has a pretty good tick from the passenger side valve cover unfortunately. That's it for now, great forum I feel very confident that I can fix any problems I encounter with all the info here!
  8. <a href="http://s1377.photobucket.com/user/Mattybilt/media/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20160413_161618_zpskopapx8g.jpg.html"target="_blank Here
  9. Eh, the model name is just a name. If your not running a bed then typically it becomes a truggy as most call that set up. Since both are in the 21 series and so many parts of the body itself are similar most people wouldn't even realize it's a pathy frame. Off-road guys will be asking where you got your link set up from in the back not realizing it's factory. That is one thing about these rigs, easy to modify but the sheep out there want to be able to walk into 4wheel parts or go to a website and buy all the fancy "kits" that bolt on etc.
  10. Just bought myself a 95 with 156xxx. It's been parked for almost 4 years! Title shows 140k in 2012 when it was last transferred.
  11. Well now I'm a newbie x2. Bought myself a 95 today. It needs a lot of cleaning and some body work. It was in a fender bender then parked for almost 4 years! Surprisingly it runs OK but the bad gas smell from the exhaust is horrible. Will try to get pics of both tomorrow, will be replacing the strut and doing brakes on the 98.
  12. Sorry no pics yet! It's just a silver le all stock. Got the fancy chrome bumpers and all that. Think I'm going to hit the junkyard this weekend and try to find some stock fender flares for it. So far she likes driving it. I can't wait to take it off road personally!
  13. Hey everyone. Just bought a 98 for my wife to drive to work. Cool forum here I must say. Already having fun with working on it. Front struts were replaced recently but driver's side must be defective. It clunks side to side if you shake the tire or grab the spring and shake it. Already took it apart once thinking it was the bearing or mount but nope, it's the strut itself. I think it's a cool little SUV anyway. I'm used to driving blazer's, Tahoe's, and burbs myself. Will see how it goes with the wife driving it for awhile.
