  1. My MPG has gotten pretty bad lately and I am trying everything to get it back. I know my 32's dont help but I used to get 300 miles per tank in town and now im getting 240. Do you guys think I could try cleaning the MAF? Im worried I might kill it and have to buy a new MAF.
  2. I had a pretty loud ticking and I replaced the plugs with oem NGKs today. The ticking is gone and the engine sounds like it did when I bought it. It has 90K on it now.
  3. I took the intake off today and checked the power valves. Every screw was tight and they seemed to have red locktite on them, i took them out and put more locktite. My path is a 2002, I have owned it since it had 40K and it now has 90K. Even though I was probably safe I sure feel better.
  4. I really like the look of the stock 16s but they were not the right backspacing. I went with 15 inch steelies because 15" tires were much cheaper then 16.
  5. Im not saying they will fail any quicker. When the thicker new pad was installed it moved the caliper out closer to the wheel, causing it to rub. The 15's were originally installed with year old brake pads and they cleared the caliper fine. And 275s will not fit without a lift, 265/75/16s will rub horribly without a lift. Without a lift the biggest you can run on stock wheels is 265/70/16s or 245/75/16s, about the same height but the 245's are not as wide.
  6. I have a very fast ticking sound from my engine, did anyone ever figure out if this method fixed anything? Thanks
  7. How many people have removed the upper intake manifold and found the screws secured tightly? Thanks.
  8. About 6 months ago I put some 15" steel wheels from Discount Tire on my 2002 R50. They barely cleared the caliper and I had no problems with them, until today. I just finished installing new wheel bearings and replaced the rotors and pads while I had it all apart. When I first installed the 15" wheels my brake pads were pretty worn, now that the new pads are on the caliper rubs the wheel. Lol I thought for sure I had installed the bearings wrong, because the noise was terrible! The new, thicker pads, set the caliper out further causing them to touch the wheels. I ended up grinding a little bit off the caliper and everything seems fine. So if you are test fitting a wheel, make sure your brake pads are relatively new!
  9. My rotors are warped badly and I cannot decide if cross drilled or slotted rotors are worth the extra cash. I have the AC lift and 32x11.5x15 BFG All Terrains on a steel wheel. With all this extra weight will the cross drilled rotors help? Has anyone actually tried them? Thanks.
  10. I have a 2002 R50 with the AC lift and 32x11.5 all terrains. I took my front swaybar off last weekend to see how much better it would perform and i love it. I was out today wheelin and I snapped my rear swaybar in two. Has anyone else done this? do I need to replace it or can i run with no swaybars at all? thanks
  11. Do you think the 265/75/16s on my stock wheels would be able to be aired down without rubbing the strut?
  12. I have the AC lift and need some bigger tires. I dont want to go very wide if i dont have to so i was hoping I could fit some 33X10.5X15s on a 3.75BS wheel. If they wont fit I am thinking about 32x11.50s or 265/75/16s on the stock wheels. Does anyone know if the 33s will fit? Thanks
  13. It is coming from the rear for sure, ill check the shocks, thanks.
  14. I finally got my AC lift installed but now there is a thumping noise coming from the rear end when I hit bumps. Is it possible that the springs are up side down? Any other ideas on what it might be? Thanks
  15. Ok I drove it to work once and I will fix it tonight, thanks guys.
  16. I installed my AC lift yesterday and everything went pretty goood except I spaced aligning the struts with the strut mount. The notches on the mounts are on the opposite sides of the notches on the struts. I am going to fix this or get this fixed right away but I was wondering if this will cause any damage to my new struts in the time being. I plan on having to drive it for a few days before it can be fixed. They are KYB GR2 struts. Thanks.
