  1. My 97 XE had a similar problem. I suggest replacing the master control switch within the driver door. I understand that it is costly, though, and may suggest that you disassemble and use electrical contact cleaner to freshen up the ball and spring actuators. Sparingly grease them with electrode lube after cleaning. Mine appeared burnt and scared the copper contacts so I merely replaced the entire controller for around $90. Beware: they're fragile and a pain to disassemble.
  2. It was utter sarcasm. You will require the lube in order to more easily install the poly bushings. Especially the driver side. The set includes said lube for that purpose. Not to mention the lube ads further water-weather proofing. Not to mention further prevention of oil saturation on the driver side during the next oil change.
  3. If you say so... So, to the OP, be sure to throw that poly urethane assembly lube in the trash if you purchase what I've recommended.
  4. Pics of the Daystar rear 1.25" spring spacers and stock XE front height.
  5. I second the steering rack bushings. I recently chased down the same problem in my 97 pathfinder. may I suggest the blue colored urethane bushings that are for sale on eBay right now. The oil filter tends to spill all over the driver side rack bushing which is no bueno for rubber. I swapped to the urethane bushings and have fixed the steering pull after full lock upon acceleration. It firmed up the steering and rid me of a clunk over bumps, as well. Be sure to properly lube urethane if you choose them.
  6. @kdj Your opinion in reguard to 4x4D... I'm just under 1.25" after an 80 mile cruise. I suspect they'll settle down with my new shocks to about an inch total. The great thing about the Daystar spacers is that they go up to a 3" lift spacer for under $80. I suggest surfing craigslist or 4Runner forums prior to buying new. It seems the spacers are a beginner mod and are readily available used. I'll take photos tomorrow if the overall lift.
  7. Thanks to the original poster for mentioning this option. I successfully installed the Daystar 1.25" lift 9100's for a 4Runner this afternoon. Took about 30 minutes per side. Notes: - disconnect end links - disconnect shocks - disconnect panhard bar from axle - support center pig with a jack - lift body using side jack points - raise body - remove springs and isolators - place spacer on axle spring mount - replace spring ( I cheated with a spring compressor ) - lower body and allow springs to seat - reconnect bar, shocks and end links This spacer has given me over an inch of height and seated just fine after installation. No binding, no squeaks, no buyers remorse after dropping $35 on a reasonable lift. There's no reason to waste $75+ on the 4x4design spacers. Thanks again!
