  1. Here is pic of where the radio itself is mounted. I mounted in that pocket under the deck then mounted my police scanner/proximity sensor under that. I had to modify the dash slightly to get it to fit in there but if you had a smaller cb unit it would be easier.

I mounted my antenna to the tire carrier via one of those mirror mounts for semi trucks the ran my wire under the bumper then in to some grommet under the rear seat then sealed it up with some automotive urethane caulking.

I will be painting my tire carrier with the same matte black automotive that's on my wheels and rack so no remarks bout the rust on it :) hehe

  2. Oh snap just noticed this thread. I don't spend a TON of time over here in the off topic ya know.

I'll throw down a minimum of $20, like others have said this site has been life changing to me if it wasn't around I wouldn't have even dared to do half the stuff to my pathy!

    Thanks to Mr. Jim

  3. Everything in this thread describes my car to a T and I can't for the life of me figure it out either. I've replaced the plugs with OEM plugs from the dealer and checked over vacuum lines. I've adjusted my timing with a light from 10 to 15 and everything in between. It seems to ping much worse when it's hotter outside. If I run the premium fuel it doesn't seem to ping hardly at all?? I've run injector cleaner as well and put a new air filter in and did and oil change and put the engine restorer stuff in as per another members advice which by the way did help with the noisy lifter.

    Any ideas??

edit - I've also replaced my O2 sensor recently and put a new high flow cat in as well.

  4. That looks cool, but I don't see how your shifters don't hit your cups when in 1st, 4th, reverse or 4Lo. Mine has the 3" BL, maybe that makes the shifters hit that.

The ones I did were using two spill master juniors from pepboys, they work pretty well.

My shifters never hit my drinks, even if they're big drinks. The only time it's close is putting it into reverse. But I don't have a body lift either.

  5. Just get some gray foam and cut it like this then use a hole saw to cut out the cup holes... I made this in about 20 mins and it ROCKS!! Never tips, fits ALL size drinks cause it stretches, and seems to match pretty good too! I've had it for over a year and if it ever wears out I'll just take another 20 mins and make a new one.

I even thought about mass producing them for members if enough people were interested.

  6. thats exactly what i want mine to look like. i have 2 KC's on the original roof rack. i havent had a chance to wire them up or anything. a mechanic told me that the dome light would maybe have enough juice to run them. what do yall think about that idea?

I would recommend NOT doing that. The offroad lights will draw a significant amount more power. I think the best way would be to wire a relay directly to you battery then to the light. If you hook to the dome you could start blowing fuses for sure.

    very nice job. :goodpost:

ive been looking for a used roof rack and other parts for my pathy for a long time. :ohno01:

i was going to buy a brand new rack when i realized my timing belt is due soon. this is a job that scares the hell outta me. :crossedwires::headwall::suicide:

the only thing different i would've done is have a separate 'master' switch for all the rack lights. Here the cops don't take kindly to off road lighting; last thing i would want would be an accidental blinding.

I REALLY liked ylur 'fuse block' placement. I just picked up one myself, and have been pondering where to mount it.

    once again. nice job. :aok:

    peace brotha

That's a good idea for a master switch I haven't had any issues with accidental lighting but I guess there's always that possibility that it could ya know :)

    Thanks dude!

  7. ...its been posted more than a few times before, but i couldn't say specifically where...

You were totally right there is tons of info regarding this KMA company. Seems like the main complaint is that they take longer than they say they will and a few have had complaints on quality while many say they are descent bumpers... I dunno, maybe I'll get a welder and atempt to make my own.

  8. Here's where I've got mine mounted. It wasn't exactly easy to fit it in there but with a little trimming and patience you'll have no problem. I mounted my scanner below the CB so I've got all radios in the same area. :)
