I already miss the guys over at the CX500 forum, but I'm sure we will all be mates soon enough! Would you mind explaining what Z24 is then? Is it stock from Nissan? But only on '89? Why is it rare... Got a battery this morning, hoping to get it running this weekend! Good call with the timing chain, I'll leave it be... Just do the thermostat and the pump.

So I'm looking for a water pump, for my brand new to me 89 pathy. I had in my head that it looks like this... But that is for 3 liter engines? The guy I bought it from told me is has a Z24 Single Spark, and from my looking it appears that single spark is a mod to the original engine, not a different engine... So I guess my question is, what water pump do I need... I'm stuck! I'm hesitant to look it up via vin because I know the engine has been replaced - but I guess it should be the same as the original hey? Any insight? I'm looking at getting one of these water pumps... And the nissan parts house here just told me that after looking up my VIN, my engine doesnt have a timing belt, but a timing chain. Does that make sense for an 89? Cheers for any help guys!! Taylor

Just bought my second Pathy last night! The first was the first car I bought when I was 18, in California. She is long gone now... I got this one by trading my '78 Honda CX500 for it, and I cant wait to get stuck into it! Needs a new water pump, and I reckon I need to do the timing belt and thermostat at the same time. Anyone know where to get parts in Aus? Fingers crossed for RWC... Any tips for that job? Happy to be part of this community!
